While
implementing green regulations are the important
first steps, we are well aware that we are part of a world wide effort
to fight
global warming and thus depend on, international institutions,
governments, the
technological progress and the companies we do business with to meet
our goals.
Our motors come from Taiwan, electrical sockets from the United
Kingdom, others
from the United States, the Switzerland just to give some examples.
However,
growth and internationalization comes at the cost of rising greenhouse
emissions, which are seen as a prime cause of global warming. With a
share of
14 percent in global carbon emissions, transport and logistics has a
special
responsibility in the global battle against climate change. We may not
have all
the right answers, yet but that doesn’t stop us from going
ahead step by step. Implemented green regulations until September 2009: · REACH, Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals is a European Union Regulation We are able to confirm, that all our materials come from REACH pre-registered suppliers. REACH addresses the production and use of chemical substances, and their potential impacts on both human health and the environment. It is the strictest law to date regulating chemical substances and will impact industries throughout the world. REACH entered into force in June 2007, with a phased implementation over the next decade. Thus we can guarantee that i.e. our cable insulations are free of potentially toxic substances (such as phthalates or brominated flame retardants) which are deemed undesirable and REACH forces the use of those substances to be phased out. Apart for that we guarantee that we are using lead-free solders as the use of the toxic heavy metal lead is banned in the EU since 2006 in the electronics industry. · ISO 14001 Environment Policy We confirm, that we’ll only use materials and machinery parts from ISO 14001 certified suppliers. · Wast Electrical Equipment With the release of the new "ElectroG" (Act concerning the sale, return and environmentally healthy recycling of electronic equipment) in Germany since 24.03.2006 you will have the opportunity to return our sold electrical devices free of charge, if they might ever become worn-out in the coming 10 or 20 years, for recycling. |
